Brian C. Procter MD

Brian Charles Procter M.D. was born and raised in North Texas. Following graduation from Trinity High School in Euless, he attended the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology at The University of Texas at Austin. After a brief career in Molecular Biology in Houston, he attended Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Lubbock. He graduated with his Doctorate in Medicine in 1997. Dr. Procter completed residency training in Family Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo in 2000.

Following residency in 2000, Dr. Procter established what is now The Well Integrative Medicine, a large Direct Primary Care Concierge clinic in McKinney, Texas in 2000. His medical interests include innovative integrative medicine, PRP treatments, COVID-19 issue management, chronic condition management, minor office surgery, Botox/Juvéderm treatments, and hormone replacement therapy, among others.

His original research and successful treatment of over 2500 COVID-19 patients were among the first published clinical studies on COVID-19 in conjunction with Dr. Peter A McCullough. He has testified before both the Texas Senate Health and Human Services Committee and the South Dakota House of Representatives Health Committee regarding various aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the years, he modernized The Well Integrative Medicine by formulating a method using advanced healthcare technology systems and processes to optimize the patient experience and deliver exceptional customer service. He donated his method to The Office of the Surgeon General and the United States Military, and this method is in use at U.S. military installations all over the world to this day.

Dr. Procter is a member of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons and the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is associated with America’s Frontline Doctors, Freedom Doctor Alliance, Frontline MDs, the FLCCC, and the Truth for Health Foundation. He is an original founding BioTE provider since 2010. He is board certified by both the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Procter lives in McKinney, Texas and Wimberley, Texas. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, pickleball, boxing, hunting, ranching, and traveling with his wife and kids.

Peter A. McCullough, MD, MPH®

After receiving a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University, Dr. McCullough completed his medical degree as an Alpha Omega Alpha graduate from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He went on to complete his internal medicine residency at the University of Washington, cardiology fellowship including service as Chief Fellow at William Beaumont Hospital, and master’s degree in public health at the University of Michigan.

Dr. McCullough has broadly published on a range of topics in medicine with over 1000 publications and over 660 citations in the National Library of Medicine. His works include the “Interface between Renal Disease and Cardiovascular Illness” in Braunwald’s Heart Disease Textbook. Dr. McCullough has made presentations on the advancement of medicine across the world and has been an invited lecturer at the New York Academy of Sciences, the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the European Medicines Agency. He has served as member or chair of data safety monitoring boards of dozens of randomized clinical trials.

Since the outset of the pandemic, Dr. McCullough has been a leader in the medical response to the COVID-19 disaster and has published “Pathophysiological Basis and Rationale for Early Outpatient Treatment of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Infection” the first synthesis of sequenced multidrug treatment of ambulatory patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 in the American Journal of Medicine and subsequently updated in Reviews in Cardiovascular Medicine. He has >60 peer-reviewed publications on the infection and has commented extensively on the medical response to the COVID-19 crisis in The Hill. Dr. McCullough has testified multiple times in the US Senate and in several State Senate Committees concerning early ambulatory treatment of high-risk patients with COVID-19 and the safety and theoretic efficacy of COVID-19 vaccination. Dr. McCullough welcomes post-COVID-19 patients into his practice and will help them through the range of post-infection complications and injuries resulting from COVID-19 vaccination.

Vanessa Pickard MPAS PA-C

Vanessa was born and raised in the DFW Metroplex and lives near Allen with her husband and two daughters. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in College Station in 2006. In May 2010, Vanessa graduated with honors from UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth with her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree.

Family medicine and pediatrics have always been Vanessa's passions because she enjoys building relationships with family members of all ages. Vanessa has been at what is now The Well Integrative Medicine since April 2011 and feels like it’s her home away from home. Among many other things, she has gained training and extensive experience in hormone replacement therapy and enjoys the challenge of balancing hormones. Vanessa is passionate about helping and healing every patient in any way she can and she leans heavily on her strong Christian values to achieve that goal.

In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family and friends, especially if it involves the outdoors where she can enjoy the most beautiful things that nature has to offer. Vanessa also has two French bulldogs who travel everywhere with her and are considered part of the family.

Erica Smith MPAS PA-C

Erica R. Smith has been a certified Physician Assistant at The Well Integrative Medicine (formerly McKinney Family Medicine) since 2011. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Texas Woman’s University in December 2004. She graduated with her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Texas Medical Branch in December 2008.

Integrative Medicine is Erica's primary interest because she enjoys building long-lasting relationships with her patients and their families. Her main goal in healthcare is to deliver a combination of fresh thinking, practical advice, and inspirational energy, which is something her patients have come to know and love for over 10 years. She specializes in a wide range of healthcare services, including preventative care with a focus on a combination of acute and chronic illness and an emphasis on hormone replacement therapy. She has been a trusted certified medical provider of BioTE, a specialized form of bioidentical hormone replacement, since 2011. Erica is also fluent in Spanish and has a strong interest in providing healthcare to the Spanish-speaking community.

She currently resides in Celina, TX, and enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two daughters. A lot of their weekends are busy with their kids’ sports, but they also enjoy traveling when possible. She is strong in her Christian faith and is a current member of High Pointe Church of Christ in McKinney, TX. Her faith based approach to practicing medicine has allowed her the opportunity to provide culturally competent care and, ultimately, exemplary clinical care to all patients.

Cortney Hanson MPAS PA-C

Cortney grew up in McKinney and graduated from McKinney High School and currently still resides in McKinney with her husband, two boys ages 9 and 13, two dogs and one ferret. She completed her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University, and her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth.

She has been in medicine for over 20 years with a background in Cardiology, Pediatrics, Hospitalist Medicine, and Holistic Health. She has been a practicing physician assistant for almost 15 years; most of them at The Well Integrative Medicine. She loves medicine, getting to know her patients, and treating them like family. She is passionate about overall well being and makes sure to treat each patient individually based on their wants and needs.

Aside from work, Cortney loves spending time with her family, pets, and friends.  She loves traveling, enjoying their lake house, and working out.  She hopes she can provide the upmost care for patients and their families and wishes to gain a relationship with each one of them.  She believes every patient (and person) has a story, and we can learn and benefit from listening to and helping each other.  She feels so blessed to work at The Well Integrative Medicine, uphold the Hippocratic Oath, and incorporate her faith in the workplace.

Megan Roberts, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

Megan was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She obtained her RN and MSN in 2008 from the University of Texas School of Nursing in Austin and gained experience working in the medical/surgical inpatient hospital setting. She then obtained her FNP Post-Master’s Certificate through the UT School of Nursing in 2015 and practiced healthcare in Austin until moving back to the DFW area in 2019.

Megan has experience as an advanced practice provider in multiple settings including family practice, integrative/functional primary care, inpatient and outpatient endocrinology, and weight management. She is most interested in preventative medicine and identifying the root cause of disease while using holistic modalities when possible to obtain wellness. She currently works part-time at The Well Integrative Medicine.

Outside of healthcare Megan resides in Lucas, Texas and enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and three children as well as cooking, swimming, and gardening.

Abbie Landry MHS PA-C

Abbie grew up in McKinney, TX, and graduated from McKinney Christian Academy. She currently lives in McKinney with her husband and two dogs. She received her Bachelor of Science in Allied Health from Texas A&M University and graduated with honors in 2020. She then went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Health Science as a Physician Assistant from The University of Oklahoma in 2022.

Since graduating from PA school, Abbie has worked in pediatric urgent care and gained experience with minor procedures and managing acute illnesses in kids. Abbie has always had a passion for family medicine and worked as a medical assistant at The Well Integrative Medicine (formerly McKinney Family Medicine) in 2017. She was excited to return in 2023 as a Physician Assistant and continue pursuing her love for primary care.

In her free time, she enjoys going on walks with her husband and two Labrador retrievers, Maggie and Millie. She also has 3 nieces and 2 nephews that she loves to spoil and take to do fun things around town. She is a strong Christian and has a purpose to implement her faith into her medical practice. Her goal as a health care provider is to create lifelong relationships with patients and make sure that each concern is always managed to their individual needs.

Kyle Ricchi BSN RN

Kyle was born and raised in McKinney, Texas. He graduated from Texas Tech University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2020. Before attending Texas Tech, he received his CNA certification from McKinney Boyd High School in 2016 and worked at what is now The Well Integrative Medicine as a Medical Assistant.

After becoming certified he started working as a Registered Nurse on a surgical oncology unit in Plano. While working in the hospital he obtained his chemotherapy certification. He became experienced in administering multiple infusions including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood, iron, and antibiotics. He is a compassionate and dedicated individual who goes above and beyond to ensure the well- being of his patients. He is back at The Well Integrative Medicine serving as the Clinical Staff Nurse and administers IV infusions and other complex procedures/operations alongside Dr. Procter.

Kyle resides in Melissa, Texas where he lives with his wife and daughter. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends. On most weekends you can find him out on the golf course hitting absolute BOMBS! He’s also known to bust out in song even though he won’t be winning a Grammy any time soon.
