Direct primary care (DPC) is an exciting and innovative healthcare model where medical providers partner with their patients to provide primary care services without sending claims to third-party insurance providers. Instead, patients can choose between a flat, periodic membership fee combined with a monthly fee for unlimited services (similar to a web streaming service model) or a model with an annual registration fee and a la carte fees per service (similar to a retail store membership).
The DPC philosophy restores a strong private connection between physicians and patients without interference from third parties, such as insurance companies, hospital systems, and the government.
As we practice the direct primary care model at McKinney Family Medicine, we don't bill any third-party payors, such as insurance agencies, Medicare, or Medicaid. This allows us to discuss and make medical decisions solely based on your health and well-being, not on the "bottom line" of an insurance company.
By moving away from these administrative burdens presented by the traditional insurance-based billing system, McKinney Family Medicine can provide you with a wide spectrum of care in a completely transparent and affordable manner.
Now a grassroots movement with over 1,000 facilities nationwide, DPC is a system ideally suited to practice while offering patients a higher level of service, communication, and relationship. We have decided to rebuild our clinic at McKinney Family Medicine to meet YOUR medical needs instead of supporting the big business of the broken healthcare industry.
To meet the many benefits offered by the DPC model, we now practice as a much smaller clinic with a limited number of patients. Outside of our facility, you'll still need medical insurance for emergency room visits, hospitalization, specialists, prescriptions, and tests not covered by our DPC system.
We recommend you review your current insurance plan to see how it aligns with McKinney Family Medicine. You will likely require less comprehensive insurance coverage, which should lower your monthly premiums. We will provide you with receipts if you choose to self-file with your commercial insurance company for possible out-of-network benefits.
Our intention in choosing this model for our clinic is to provide you with a unique combination of medical care and personal service rarely seen in current days. Get the most out of your physician visits without the interference of outside insurance companies when you rely on the professionals at McKinney Family Medicine.
At McKinney Family Medicine, we strongly believe in the Hippocratic Oath. As such, we are among the TOP 1% of medical providers out there. We never closed during the recent pandemic because we passionately believe in our commitment to you and your medical needs. Unlike most facilities that closed their doors, we took a proactive and courageous approach to COVID-19 and accomplished the following:
Our response during the COVID-19 pandemic was viewed unfavorably by many individuals, organizations, insurance companies, and governmental entities. The third-party healthcare insurance system canceled us for doing what we had to do to help those in need. History and REAL science data have since proven our actions were justified and our critics were wrong.
We fought for our patients then, and we continue to do so now. During the pandemic, we saw violations of our constitutional, human, medical, personal, and religious rights, as well as the end of medical freedom and the right-to-try principle.
McKinney Family Medicine aims to restore YOUR medical freedom using the Direct Primary Care model with respect to:

"The new model is great and focused on serving patients. It’s unfortunate that private doctors are so distracted from real healthcare by insurance company overhead and controls. Dr Proctor may have figured it out."
